Every agent and landlord verifies a government ID before they can post a single listing, so there is always a real, verified person behind a property, and that is the Verified badge on every listing. We do not physically inspect every unit, but our system automatically flags duplicate photos and suspicious price changes, and we act fast on anything reported.
No, a NIN is not the only option. Ventry accepts a National ID card/slip (NIN), driver's licence, international passport, or voter's card. Whichever you submit is stored securely and used only to verify your identity. See our Privacy Policy for how it is handled.
Yes, Ventry is free to use: browsing listings and contacting agents and landlords costs nothing. You pay rent directly to the agent or landlord after you have inspected the property in person.
Only through Ventry's protected inspection. If a listing charges an inspection fee, you book it through Ventry, which holds the fee and releases it to the agent only after you view the property in person. What you should never do is send money directly to an agent or landlord, or into a personal account, to be allowed to view, and never pay rent or a deposit before you have inspected in person. Ventry shows this reminder on every listing.
Report it from the listing page or contact us. Duplicate photos and price changes are flagged automatically, and reported listings are reviewed quickly.
